一、教学目标：
1.能听说认读本课单词：beach，Canberra, kangaroo,
2.能够运用句型：That’s right.和Very good.
3. 能够熟练地介绍澳大利亚的基本情况,地理位置,所说语言,国旗和主要景物。
4.了解除了欧美以外的更多说英语的国家，增长学生知识。

二、教学重点及难点：
（1）重点：
1. 认知新词汇：beach, Canberra, kangaroo .
2. 掌握句子： That’s right..和Very good.
（2）难点：
能运用所学句型简要介绍澳大利亚。

三、学法指导：
游戏激趣，联系实际。

四、教学媒体：
录音机、地图、电脑、彩色挂图、单词卡片

五、教学过程：
Step 1：Class Opening and Review
1. Class Opening
Greeting.
设计意图：（***问候，营造宽松、民主、和谐的课堂氛围）
2. Review
（1）复习以下单词 north/south/east/west/map/speak/Chinese/ English。学生可以举起他们的词汇卡片以示相应的国家及首都。
（2）利用问答操练复习有关国家的词汇。教师提出以下问题：（幻灯片显示）
What country is this?
Do you know the capital city of this country?
What colour is this country?
What do they speak in this country?
学生根据自己对上一节课知识点的掌握情况回答相关问题。
设计意图：（利用单词卡片，复习上一节课的知识内容，促进对本文的学习）
Step 2：New Concepts
(1)教师向学生展示袋鼠的图片，引出句型“What’s this?”，学生可能不会说这个英语单词，只能用中文来回答，即便这样，教师也应给予可定的回应。教师随后引导学生学习单词kangaroo。
设计意图：（运用图片，直观地将单词kangaroo“袋鼠”展示给学生，提升课堂气氛）
(2)教师在黑板上张贴世界地图，请学生到讲台出指出袋鼠居住的国家位置，问：“Do you know where kangaroos live?”学生在地图上指出澳大利亚的位置。教师应立刻给予肯定：That’s right./Very good. 同时板书：Kangaroos live in Australia.
设计意图：（让学生实际操作，指出国家位置，加深对澳大利亚的印象）
(3)教师向学生展示几面不同国家的小旗帜（中国、美国、加拿大、英国）。请学生辨认出哪一面是澳大利亚的国旗。学生辨认出以后，教师对其肯定：That’s right./Very good..请学生对澳大利亚国旗进行描述。学生只能说出一些零散的词汇：blue,white,star等。教师引导学生详细描述：It’s blue.The stars are white.It’s the U.K.’s flag in it.
设计意图：（利用实物，使学生对澳大利亚的国旗有进一步的认识与了解）
(4)教师用中文向学生描述澳大利亚美丽的沙滩.展示澳洲海滩的图片，并教授词汇beach及句子Australia has beautiful beaches.
设计意图：（运用图片，直观地将单词beach“沙滩”展示给学生，提升课堂气氛）
Step 3：Practice
1.请学生合上教材，教师板书问题：
Q1: Where is Australia?
Q2: What is the capital city of Australia?
Q3: What do they speak in Australia?
Q4: What animal lives in Australia?
2.教师播放录音，请学生听录音并回答题板上的问题。
3.教师订正答案，并教授词汇Canberra(提前准备好有关堪培拉的简介，让学生朗读)。教师再次播放录音，学生跟读。
设计意图：（带着问题听录音，培养学生的听力能力和理解能力，提高课堂效率）
Step 4：Consolidation
1. 将学生分为六人一组，请他们在小组内练习对话。
2. 每小组至少请一对学生到讲台上进行对话展示。教师对展示结果进行点评。
设计意图：（学生操练过程，是知识应用的过程，同时体现课堂上以学生为主体）
Step 5：Summary
教师向学生播放一段澳大利亚的视频，直观地向学生展示澳大利亚的景象，加深学生的印象。
设计意图：（利用多媒体的优势，将课本上呆板的图片与文字，利用视频的形式展现出来，使语言学习生动，提升学生英语学习的兴趣）
Step 6：Homework
请学生用所学英语，向父母介绍澳大利亚，并将介绍该国的句子写到作业本上。
设计意图：（对本课所学知识加以巩固）

六、板书设计：

Q1: Where is Australia? South and east of China.
Q2: What is the capital city of Australia? Caberra.
Q3: What do they speak in Australia? English.
Q4: What animal lives in Australia? Kangaroo.

说实话，你的教学设计不错。但还是要提供如下参考（考虑年级的特点）看有否借鉴意义：
一、教学目标：
1.学生读、写、说出并听懂Australia, right , beach 这几个重要单词，巩固熟练运用句型I know about…,Do you know the capital city of…, Do you know what country is north of… 。
2.能够熟练地介绍澳大利亚的基本情况,地理位置,所说语言,国旗和主要景物.试着做一次导游,在这样一种情景中去介绍。
3.培养学的异国文化意识，同时帮助学生建立自信，体验成功，感受学习英语的快乐也让学生多了解其他国家的一些情况，提高学生热爱英语的兴趣。
二、教学重点： 本课时需重点掌握 Australia, right , beach，并用英语和别人进行交流。
三、教学难点：在交际活动的过程中掌握句型I know about…,Do you know the capital city of…, Do you know what country is north of…的实际运用和流畅表达。
四、提供几个教学片段，供参考：
（片段一）Class Opening and Review:
Review sentences:利用多媒体课件通过问答操练复习已经学过的有关国家的词汇，如以下提问：
What country is this ?
What is the capital city of the country ?
What colour is the country ?
What do they speak in this country ?
What country is south of the US ?
……

New Concepts:
1：Work in pairs:
T: Ok,class, let's begin our new lesson. Look at this map , do you know what　country this is ? (幻灯片出示Australia's map)
S：Australia .
T: Yes. It's Australia. This lesson we learn lesson14 Australia. Read after me：Australia.
S：Australia. (Read “Australia” a few times.)
T: You can study this lesson in pairs ,read the text(or listen to the tape) and answer my questions:
1). where is Australia?
2). Do you know the capital city of Australia?
3). What do they speak in Australia?
4). Do you see a little flag inside Australia's flag? What　colour is it ?
5).What can you see in Australia ?
小组学习，老师在观察的过程中进行指导。
2：Answer:
每个小组汇报一项内容，其他的小组认真听并尽量能翻译出汇报的内容。
（在这样小组学习的过程中学生就已经理解了课文内容，教师再通过汇报进行检查，遇有问题老师也可以及时纠正补充，充分做到把课堂还给学生，让学生自主学习。）
3：通过幻灯片为学生出示并补充介绍一下Australia的相关知识
T：What do you know about Australia？Look here.

游戏操练
T：You study really good. Now, let's play a game to review the countries we have learnd.
每组派2名代表抽出老师手中的国家卡片，抽到哪个国家就为国家介绍那个国家。（以此锻炼学生的口语表达能力）
每个小组找一位口语最好的同学对澳大利亚进行介绍，小组之间进行比赛，让学生做最后小结。
